The SFS has provided a variety of programming that address needs and gaps within our community for over 56 years. We continue to provide referrals, services, supports and programming to all people as a status blind organization.
Our programs include but are not limited to:
Out of the Cold Shelter: Providing services and support to the homeless population. This includes a mat program for the winter months.

Ground Level Youth Centre: Youth ages 10-29 years enjoy a wide variety of programs that include: health workshops, nutrition, mentorship, connection to Elders, art, music, social activities, community engagement and volunteerism, youth council, conferences, life skills, trades 101, employment readiness, school support, mental health and addictions support, human rights training, cultural workshops, healthy relationships, justice circles, environmental workshops, sports/recreations, travel, summer camps and much more. Strengthening the Family Circle: The Strengthening the Family Circle Program supports the learning of our community through the sharing of hands-on life lessons such as: Positive Communication, Healthy Relationships, Traditional Parenting, Life Skills, Healthy Nutrition, and Creative Play. The Sagitawa Friendship Society has been a long-established, helping agency in Peace River, Alberta. We offer a friendly, respectful environment for children to play, learn and express themselves while providing opportunities for parents and caregivers to meet and develop social networks. “Education is Power” the Elders teach us. Our unique Family Program is client driven, individualized and builds on the skills and expertise that your family already possesses.

Filling Our Tipis: Youth Mental Health Program: Providing support around Mental Health to youth and their families.
Circle of Life - Cancer Prevention: Support for cancer survivors and individuals that are currently going through cancer treatment.

OSSI - Outreach Support Services Initiative: Addressing youth homelessness and family reunification.
​
NIHA - Northern Indigenous Health Alliance: HIV and Harm Reduction.Support for individuals living with HIV, STI’s and Hepatitis. Includes connection to culture, education, awareness, and preventative programming.

Education: Cultural/Historical Awareness and Training programs
​
Culture: Ceremony, Medicine Wheel Teachings, Traditional Teachings and Protocols.
​
Employment and referral services: Career workshops, job search and connections to the community.
​
Youth Employment Program: Employment readiness programming for youth. Includes youth gaining work experience through employment at Golfworld during the summer months.
